Religion vs. Science

The debate of science vs. religion in public schools is a topic that has been tip-toed around in public schools for years. This controversy is finally being addressed. What is your opinion on the subject?

I went to a catholic school, where religion was shoved down our throats every day, whether you were catholic or not. I think it should be an option. Not necessary legal or illegal, but simply a personal choice. Whether it should be included in the curriculum is the right of a private school, but not that of a public school. Good topic!

I think that religion should be left out of school. If you want your children to get a religious background while at school then you can send your child to a private school. There are just too many religions to put just one in the curriculum.

Being Catholic I have struggled with a response to this topic, but ultimatley I think all theories should be taught. How can we expect our students to form opinions without ALL the possibilites? I think that the Big Bang theory and evolution should be taught right along side that of a religious(whether Catholic or other) creation theory. Then all the options are there and the students can judge for themselves what they believe.( Of course, I am coming from a high school education aspect.)
